When your friends suggest, “Let’s go for Mexican!” there’s a good chance that they’re referring to the usual suspects – Mexican street food such as tacos, quesadillas, enchiladas, burritos and so forth. And while those are always solid choices, sticking to that regime can rob you of the chance to try some amazing Mexican dishes and delicacies that are very popular south of the border, but not so much here (yet).
Today, Salsa & Agave is here to wet your appetite while ramping up your knowledge of these Mexican classics and specialties. Not only will it expand your culinary horizons, you’ll be able towrope some knowledge on your pals the next time they suggest going out for Mexican.

You can’t help but notice that the summer season has made an early arrival in Vancouver. It was a long and rough winter for sure, but the longterm forecast calls for many days of sun in the 604 for the months to come and we’re inclined to agree. As we pen this article on our patio it’s registering a 23°C reading as the evening approaches in just the second week of May.
While it makes sense that people want to dine out more when the sun shines, studies show that people enjoy the experience more too. According to the Washington Post, the best restaurant reviews are written on sunny days when the temperature hits 21°C (70°F) and above. Of course, when it comes to our own rave reviews, we certainly like to think it’s the great food, drinks, and service, especially since sun is a bit of a rarity out here. But now that the skies are clear (and plan on staying that way) we thought we’d provide all with some dishes that pair perfectly with a beautiful day in VanCity.

Cinco de Mayo is upon us once again. For the uninitiated, Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for fifth of May) is a celebration which commemorates the Mexican army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla during the Franco-Mexican War. What this means for you in Greater Vancouver here in 2018, is a whole lot of celebration. While the city has a few events worth checking out (from Robson Square to Lonsdale Quay and beyond) you’ll want to focus your food and drink plans around the corner of Davie Street and Pacific BLVD in Yaletown. Let’s find out why.

First and foremost, we’re an eatery, a welcoming and downright comforting place where people go to dine until their bellies are content. Of course, when you visit our establishment off of the corner of Pacific BLVD and Davie Street, you immediately notice the bar. It’s become quite the draw in itself, with patrons coming for lunch or dinner, but sticking around well passed the time they cleaned their plate to order a few rounds of libations. They (and you) are more than welcome to do so.
What people love about Salsa & Agave in this capacity, is the accommodating and non-pretentious nature, something that those in search of a casual sipping experience greatly appreciate. So today, we encourage you to swing on by this spring, summer, and beyond and enjoy some of the following local favorite beverages. And yes, you can wear your flip flops, VANS, ripped jeans, t-shirts, and whatever else keeps in the mood to kick back and chill.

While it’s definitely one of the hotspots in Greater Vancouver, Yaletown does get labelled as being a bit pretentious by some. What’s to blame? Many may cite the per capita number of cosmetic surgery clinics, beauty spas/salons, and boutique pet stores that sell over $500 bedazzled dog collars. But there is so much more to the community that what some see on the surface. There are amazing fun-loving characters (you?) in our district and commercial businesses to cater to them, and when it comes to casual dining, our restaurant delivers accordingly. Let’s find out how and why.

Valentine’s Day may be in the rear view mirror, but that doesn’t mean couples aren’t on the hunt for a great place to snuggle up and enjoy a great meal with a great atmosphere to boot. At the same time, many prefer to relegate the whole candlelight scene to February 14th, in search of something that is cozy for couples yet without the overtly romantic pretension for the other 364 days of the year. If this is you, you’ve come to the right place.
Salsa & Agave is a favorite haunt for many downtown Vancouver duos. Today, we take a look at why.
